Anti-Corruption Policy

1. Statement of Commitment

FPLC is firmly committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct. We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, bribery, and unethical practices in all forms.

As a business association, we recognize our responsibility to uphold ethical leadership and to support a fair, transparent, and accountable business environment in Malaysia. This policy clearly sets out where we stand on corruption and improper conduct.

2. Scope and Applicability

This policy applies to:

  • FPLC, its governing bodies, and representatives
  • All officers, employees, volunteers, and individuals acting on behalf of FPLC
  • All members, partners, sponsors, service providers, and other stakeholders in their interactions with FPLC

Adherence to this policy is expected in all dealings connected to FPLC, whether directly or indirectly.

3. Zero Tolerance for Corruption

FPLC strictly prohibits all forms of corruption, including but not limited to:

  • Bribery, whether giving, offering, receiving, or soliciting any form of improper advantage
  • Facilitation payments, kickbacks, or inducements
  • Abuse of position, authority, or influence for personal or organizational gain
  • Fraud, misrepresentation, or concealment of material information
  • Undisclosed or unmanaged conflicts of interest

Corruption is not tolerated under any circumstances, regardless of value, intent, or perceived business necessity.

4. Gifts, Hospitality, and Benefits

In line with our commitment to transparency and integrity, FPLC does not encourage or permit the giving or receiving of gifts, hospitality, or benefits of any kind, including those of nominal value, when related to FPLC’s activities or engagements.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cash or cash equivalents
  • Gifts, vouchers, or tokens
  • Meals, entertainment, travel, or accommodation
  • Any benefit that could create a sense of obligation or the perception of influence

All stakeholders are expected to respect this position and refrain from offering or accepting gifts or benefits in connection with FPLC.

5. Transparency and Ethical Conduct

FPLC is committed to conducting its operations openly and responsibly. This includes:

  • Maintaining accurate and transparent records
  • Making decisions based on merit, fairness, and accountability
  • Avoiding situations that may create actual or perceived conflicts of interest
  • Promoting ethical behavior in all professional interactions

Transparency is fundamental to building trust with our members, partners, regulators, and the public.

6. Reporting and Speaking Up 

FPLC encourages the reporting of any suspected or actual incidents of corruption or unethical conduct. All concerns raised in good faith will be treated seriously, handled confidentially, and addressed appropriately.

FPLC does not tolerate retaliation against any individual who reports concerns honestly and responsibly.

7. Responsibility and Accountability

Ethical conduct is a shared responsibility. All individuals and entities engaging with FPLC are expected to:

  • Act in compliance with this policy
  • Uphold applicable anti-corruption laws and regulations in Malaysia
  • Cooperate fully with any internal review or inquiry

Failure to comply with this policy may result in appropriate action, including termination of engagement or membership, and where necessary, referral to relevant authorities.

8. Continuous Commitment

This policy reflects our ongoing commitment to ethical governance and responsible business practices. It will be reviewed periodically to ensure continued relevance and alignment with Malaysian laws, regulations, and best practices.
